Voice-over entries

Post by Maroni » Thu Jun 27, 2019 11:39 pm

NOTE: The team has had an amazing response on this topic. So much, that we have decided to move the entries from e-mail to this topic. Please leave your files in this very topic. Make sure to zip your file(s) into one folder, without this your file(s) cannot be uploaded.

Entries only!

>> Questions regarding this topic can be asked here. <<

Hi Folks!

As you may know by now, BFME: Reforged is also planning to add new heroes and units into the game. These will require custom voices, which we would love the community to help with!

A list of characters that will require a voice-over: (samples can be accessed via hyperlink, there will be more samples available soon)
  • Ugluk
  • Sauron (LotR, common tongue)
  • Balin
  • Thorin Oakenshield
  • Bard
  • Bolg (Black speech)
  • The Great Goblin (High Pass)

If you think your voice fits a character from the available list, you can record the sampled voice line and leave your entry in this topic!

Important notes!!

- Make sure to zip your file(s) into one folder, without this your voice file(s) cannot be uploaded.
- Name the voice file(s) within your zipped folder according to the character it is meant for!
- For now, only English voice lines are required. Please follow the sample(s) from the list.
- Please use a common sound format like .mp3 or .wav
- A good voice recording device is very welcome. We need good audio quality.
- If you want to give us some background info about your affinity with voice recording, you can do so in the entry post
- Make sure you have (e-mail) notifications for PM (private messages) on the forum active. This will be our way of contacting you when the time comes.

The team might contact you and give a reaction at some point. This will take some time, especially with the huge amount of entries we got.

Many thanks in advance,

- BFME: Reforged team

Dear BFME Reforged team,

I've always been a fan of voice-overs, so I'm always trying to do some weird noises and change my voice in different ways. I'm actually making the voice over for a trailer for an upcoming game which I'm not allowed to talk about yet.

I thought The Witch-King might be a good fit for me. I don't know. I just tried and this is what I came up with.

With kind regards,
Deepy

Thorin - voiceover

Post by A Wild Scotsman » Sun Jun 30, 2019 9:38 pm

Hello it's me again, just reposting my audition for Thorin here as requested. The audio is still a little bit quiet because i forgot to boost it so turning up the volume might be required! apologies for that. I'll remember to adjust it next time!

Hey guys! Was told to send the recordings here, so here it is. I have recorded three voices which is Azog, The Witch King and Ugluk. The quality of the sound is a little of because i don't own a proper mic, but i will buy one if you need more samples.

Greetings BFME reforge team,

Here is the voice-over for Sauron, The Witch King and The Nazgul. I didn't use effects for my voice and i was trying to imitate as close to movies as possible but of course it can't sound exactly the same especially since they used a lot of effects for each sound in the movie. There is a bit of noise in the background, my fan inside the computer is doing that but i'm pretty sure i can erase this problem once i replace it with a new quieter fan. If the effects were added like in the movie i think the voice-over would sound close to the movie.

With respect Kristijan King
