Boromir

Post by WerewolfMoonHunter » Wed Jan 30, 2019 5:36 pm

Hello. Yeah, it's me again. This time I wanted show you my idea for Boromir. I created new skils for him becouse in oryginal game he had almost no skills (what was unthinkable) and at Edain Mod he had some interesting skills, but really low dmg. So here I wanted propose more useful version of him.

Boromir:

1.Lev.1- Defender of Gondor: Boromir, as a son of Steward of Gondor, feel responsible for his fatherland. He will do everything to protect it, and he will fight to the end. His attitude motivates and inspires soldiers, and thats why he is so great leader. Allied units near Boromir will get +25% for armour, dmg and they will have fear resitsance. When Boromir will have less the 10% of his hp, he will get +50% for armour and his attack will knocking back nearby enemies. (passive ability).

2.Lev.2- Horn of Gondor: Stuns enemies with terror.

3.Lev.5- Shield Bearer: Boromir was teached how to fight by sword and shield. His fighting skills saved his live many times, and very often change the course of the battle. Boromir will get +100% for armour for 30 sec.

4.Lev.7- Captain of Gondor: Boromir, thanks his skills and fact that he is son of steward, he is one of the most important captains. His courage and bravery, allow Gondor to win many really hard battles. Allied units and heros at choosen area will level up.

5.Lev.10- "For Gondor!": After succesful deffens of Osigliath, Boromir make speach to his soldiers. He says that this battle proofs that they can win war against Mordor, and free Middle-Earth. All allied units around Boromir will get +50% to armour, and dmg for 1 minute.

Boromir: Ring Hero

Boromir, when he get the One Ring, he decited to not listen warnings form his friends and Elrond. He use it at the war against Sauron. He knows about corrupting power of the Ring, but he beleve, that his will, and sense of duty will be enough to resist it.

1.Lev.1- Mighty General of Gondor: Boromir, when he holds One Ring, he convinces his soldiers that with Weapon of the Enemy, Gondor will win the war, and bring peac to Middle-Earth. These visions fills, Boromir and his soldiers, hearts with hope. Hope which really quick and easly change into obsession. All allied units at map will get +75% to dmg, armour, and speed, and they will have fear resitsance, but they will not get any exp. When Boromir will have less the 10% of his hp, he will get +100% to armour, and his attack will knocking back nearby enemies, but he will be unable to move. When Boromir dies, all allied units at the map will be unable to fight for 30 sec. (passive ability).

2.Lev.2- Horn of Gondor: Stuns enemies with terror.

3.Lev.5- Shield of the One Ring: Boromir isn't an mage or Istari, but thanks of his strong will, he is able to force Ring to give him some magick powers. Thanks that, he can create an magick shield which will protect him, from any attacks. Borromir becomes invulnerable, and he can't be knock back, but he loose -50% of speed.

4.Lev.7- Secrets of the Enemy: Boromir, thanks One Ring, is able to see enemys plans. Thanks that, he and his soldiers, are able to preper for comming battle. Unfortunately, doing it Boromir exposes himself at Saurons influence. All allied units and heros at choosen area will level up to their max. level, but after that Boromir will be unable to move, fight or use skills by next 15 sec.

5.Lev.10- Banner of Boromir: Boromir, absorbed by obsession and madness gather his loyal soldiers under his own banner, and lead them to final attack, which should destroy Mordor army and safe Gondor and all Middleearth from Sauron. Boromir, and all allied units around him will get +150% to dmg, armour and speed for 1 minute. When this skill is active, player and his allies can't recrut any new units, and their economical buildings will produce -75% less resources.

Great ideas! I really like the lvl 1, which allows him to fight like a baresark, when he has less hp. But I think he is too much of a supporter with his other abilities. In my opinion he should have a more solo fighting based kit.

Thank you. :D

I was thinking about solo version for him, but... he was really supporting his soldiers and friends at Fellowship of the Ring so I was thinking that tank and supporter will be good for him. Remember that Aragorn is in some way solo hero.

I too really liked the ideas you showed here. The one thing that I thought would be nice for one of Boromir's ring powers would be something like:
"Banner of Boromir" - Summons a great host of troops to Boromir's side. (troops can't have armor/weapons upgraded or gain XP).
It was mentioned briefly in the book that Boromir dreamed of possessing the One Ring so that the soldiers of Gondor would rally to his banner.

Keep up the great work WerewolfMoonHunter :D

Really nice skills but for me they look over powered. Maybe just few changes and would be cool.

Im not specialist in statistics numbers, just from game experience it look too powerfull. Boromir had less skills because they were strong enough. You havent mention about his heatlh/armor/attack etc. so i guess its same like it was in rotwk, if yes then its very over powered. Look into the code, search for stats, write the new one and then make the skills more balanced(by for exmpl giving less buffs). Still i like the idea :)

It looks over-powered with those percentages. It may not seem that important for most players, but it is quite important to have such stats while having a clash. Even if your troops are dominated by larger enemies or over-leveled enemies, when they get %50 for all stats not also in the first minutes but also in the most intense moments of game, it changes most likely everything. Sooo, if you reduce those stats, it might look more stable I presume.
