Re: Rohan and Gondor

For example, combine Arnor into Gondor and call them “Men of the West” or something like that, and make Rohan separate. Add features to Rohan too, and now we have 2 revamped factions from “Men,” rather than simply splitting Men into 2 lesser factions of simply Rohan and Gondor.

Re: Rohan and Gondor

The other thing they could do is simply add some Arnor features to Gondor, and call them something else (or just leave them Gondor). Add the Rohan faction, and that would leave us with 8 teams and some Arnor features added to Gondor, especially since those of Arnor and Gondor are the same heritage a...

Re: Rohan and Gondor

True, Gondor and Arnor could probably be too similar to each other to fully justify it. Although Angmar also isn’t much of a change from the other Evil factions, so that doesn’t seem justified to me either. But I suppose the same thing could be said about Rohan and Gondor, they would fundamentally b...

Re: Rohan and Gondor

So basically, I'm saying that if they're going to split Men into Gondor and Rohan, then they should also make a North/Arnor/Dunedain faction too. But then that would make 9 teams, which means that there should also be another Shadow team lol. To balance out Evil and Good faction numbers, while also ...

Re: Rohan and Gondor

I commented in the Factions thread about this, but I don't like separating Men into Gondor and Rohan for 2 reasons specifically. 1 - Separating Men into Gondor and Rohan excludes any other Men units from the game, such as Men of Dale, Dunedain, Men of the North, Hobbits, etc. When Men is just one fa...

Re: Rohan and Gondor

It feel wrong playing as human faction (99% of it being Gondor) Helms Deep scenario. (As Human against Isengards) Yes, but if they are separated, then you also cannot use Gandalf or Aragorn for this scenario... Which is why if your goal is to recreate epic battles accurately, they should stay combi...

Re: Factions

Following my previous post for why I think they should stick to the original 6 teams + Angmar, if they were trying to make more factions to represent all groups of Middle Earth, then this would be my recommendation, influenced by my favorite board game: War of the Ring - 2nd Edition. Free Peoples: G...

Re: Factions

The plan to stick with the original 6 factions makes a lot of sense. Adding Angmar later also makes sense because it was already made in RotWK. While I understand why people want Men split into Rohan and Gondor, it's not necessary. They truly are all Men. There's enough content to justify splitting ...

Re: Favorite Middle-Earth iconic location

For the menu background, Osgiliath would be my first pick. It's a less common "stronghold," but it looks really cool and allows for a lot of detail as well. Because it's more of a city than a big fortress, it allows the background of the main menu to view it from many different angles and locations,...

Re: Gundabad Wargs

As much as I don't mind the look of the goblin spider-riders, spider riders are never mentioned in the books or seen in the movies, they're just a way to give the Goblin faction a mounted unit. Which is fine since it's not that out of the question, but gundabad wargs canonically make more sense I th...
